Happiness Engineer – Level 2

Our Happiness Engineers work throughout our venue to deliver The Fish Tank Experience to all our customers. You will be responsible for our customer’s journey from start to finish. As the face of our business your main roles and responsibilities will include:

Meeting and greeting our customers with a big friendly smile
– Taking and preparing food and drink orders
– Introducing customers to our pool and changing areas
– Supervising sessions poolside and offering support as required
– Offering information and advice in relation to our retail products
– Maintaining our very high standard of safety and cleanliness throughout the venue

Experience of working in a coffee shop / cafe is desirable. Experience of working with children is preferable. You must be able to work under pressure and maintain a positive happy attitude.

The position is a demanding and busy role with varied shifts to reflect our opening hours. Current positions are 20 or 30 hrs per week with an opportunity for additional shifts to cover planned or unexpected absence.

In return for your commitment we offer a competitive salary (starting at £9.50ph/£10.50ph depending upon age and experience), contributory pension scheme, regular training and staff discounts at the venue. For the right candidate there is also the potential to progress within The Fish Tank or get involved in further aspects of the business.

Happiness Engineer – Level 1

We are delighted to be able to offer a new route into working at The Fish Tank. Our Level 1 Happiness Engineer roles are perfect for those wishing to begin their career in the hospitality, leisure or childcare industry. With full training and support, our trainee roles will give you all of the skills needed to become one of our highly complimented Happiness Engineers. Our Level 1 roles support our team of Happiness Engineers by:

Meeting and greeting our customers with a big friendly smile

– Introducing customers to our pool and changing areas
– Supervising sessions poolside and offering support as required
– Offering information and advice in relation to our retail products
– Maintaining our very high standard of safety and cleanliness throughout the venue

No experience is necessary but we welcome applications from smart, punctual and positive individuals with a willingness to learn and progress their careers.

Our current trainee positions start from 7 hours per week on a weekend, up to 20 hrs per week over a maximum of 4 days.

Our Trainee Happiness Engineer positions start from £6.50 per hour (dependent upon age and experience) and include full training, contributory pension scheme and staff discounts at our venue.

Trainee Happy Swim Teacher

Are you looking for a new challenge? Do you love water, working with children and families, and helping babies and children develop and grow? We can offer full training for the right candidate looking to train to become a Happy Swim teacher with us.

Our swimming lessons take place at The Fish Tank, a purpose-built Family Swimming and Activity Centre in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham.

We can offer:

– small classes and set hours (hours available of between 7 and 20 hours per week)
