Who are we?

We are Paul and Penny Gordon, parents to four fantastic children, with a love of water and teaching babies and young children to be safe, confident and happy in and around it. We live in Newton Aycliffe and from 2015 ran a successful baby swimming business teaching almost 1,000 babies and toddlers across County Durham & Darlington every week. We had a dream of owning our own venue, to expand our business, offer greater choice, cleanliness and reliability to our customers and team, and give the gift of water safety and confidence to more and more babies. Over time, our dream grew and the vision of The Fish Tank was born.

Fast forward through some ups, downs, roundabouts and seemingly insurmountable obstructions to April 1st 2019 and we broke ground on our greenfield site after following our vision for 4 years with absolute determination. In January 2020 we opened The Fish Tank that we all know and love.

We're so happy that we can serve our local community and make it better by offering quality activities to help our little ones grow and families come together. We wanted to build something special, and we think we've done it. Judging by the overwhelmingly positive reviews and recommendations you give, we think you all agree.
