COVID-19 Update for Customers and Guests of The Fish Tank
We re-opened on 1st August with our revised safety measures in operation. The response has been overwhelmingly positive and our customers are reporting that our level of cleanliness and the measures we have in place, alongside our helpful staff have made them feel safe and secure.
All our swimming activities are now pre-bookable only and we have launched our online booking system to handle the demand. Our phones are not currently being monitored, so bear with us while we are starting back up to resume some level of normal business. We hope you will find it a much easier process to book and secure your place.

All activities are on a strictly pre-bookable basis until further notice. We have comprehensively upgraded our website in preparation of this to give you the best possible experience. We hope our online booking and membership system with easy payment options will be a benefit and help you and your families get back in the pool enjoying your swim time.
Our staff are on hand to meet you on your arrival to guide you through the best practise procedures we have in place.
Our air circulation system throughout the entire building utilises fresh air handling units, so all the air coming through the vents is fresh air, not recirculated. The outside air is warmed via a heat exchanger with the warm pool hall air, so maximum hygiene and efficiency is achieved. The air handling unit in the pool plant room has large vents constantly pumping in fresh air and sucking out the pool hall air, maintaining a constant temperature and clean air environment.
Hand sanitiser is provided at the main entrance and other key locations throughout the building for your convenience.
We have introduced a one way system into our changing village to ensure distancing is maintained and instigated a revised cleaning schedule between sessions.
Customers are encouraged to come 'Beach ready', and use the showers on the way out of the pool.
Our pool hall runs at a high humidity, and the good news is that the transmission of viruses is vastly reduced in high humidity. We also have sight of scientific evidence that chlorinated water kills COVID-19 and are maintaining our chlorine at the recommended level to kill the virus. Our system also incorporates pre-chlorine UV treatment, so you can swim happy knowing the pool water is properly treated.
To avoid any cold damp environments, we have further increased our underfloor heating in the changing rooms. The whole changing room now runs at a toasty 26°C and is subjected to a revised cleaning schedule between uses.
Air purification systems are installed above the changing room doors as you enter the pool and these systems not only neutralise odours but also kill airborne bacteria and germs.
Outside of the pool, we are launching Active Wall sessions for exclusive use by families / social bubbles. These will be pre-booked via our online booking system. Sessions bookings will be spaced out and the room and equipment will be deep cleaned between sessions.
The coffee shop will be serving food and drinks. Payment by card is encouraged and we appreciate your assistance with this. We hope to minimise cash transactions with contactless payments and our online booking system.
Seating has been arranged to provide maximum social distancing and, disappointingly for the kiddies, we have removed the play areas to prevent possible transmission between children.
